The Name

Zimtok5 is a childhood alias. Due to my strong belief in consistency and because it was the first name I used online, I’ve stuck with it for more than a decade. I’ve hosted a website here since the middle of 2005. Primarily, I’ve used this space to share my enigmatic writing and various forms of graphic design with both friends and strangers.

I am young at heart and deeply interested in symbolism; especially symbols communicating a strong perspective on life. This passion can be seen clearly in my work, which tends to be darkly imbued or vaguely pessimistic in nature.

Previous Work

  • BradfordPeyton.com – My 'professional' portfolio. A continuing work in progress.
  • Zimtok5.com - A site for graphic design that's home to many of my projects.
  • Driftwood – A bunch of sticks swept up and eventually run aground by the sea.

Current Work

  • Elements - My most accomplished graphic design project. This series of images overlain with words received strong positive feedback from the artistic community of LiveJournal. Elements ran between 2005 and 2008 and lasted for a total of 2.5 years, spanning 2 separate series with 95 and 58 images, respectively.
  • Origins – A deeper insight into the conceptualization of each Element, often accompanied by a back story. Often, I constructed Elements to be intentionally misleading, so that through the process of understanding, those who spent longer analyzing the message would take away greater secrets. This project aims to break down those very barriers.

Future Work

  • Dalí – The concept for a co-lead project started in 2007 when my fiancée and I decided to share our talents and create something new. The idea behind Dalí is a multi-threaded story where the user navigates through a series of prose & imagery, deciding which step to take next, much like the series of short novels released in the mid 90’s under the “Choose Your Own Adventure” brand. Dalí is currently in development and targeted for a 2010 release. Watch this space.
